About Squall Lines

Welcome to Squall Lines, your online backyard bull session for all issues great and small in the greater Wilmington area. On Squall Lines you'll get fearless, real-time commentary on the area’s schools, roads, taxes, culture, and raw politics from the same common-sense, limited government perspective the John Locke Foundation has given North Carolina for years. We won't have all the answers, but we guarantee some uncomfortable questions for our area’s leadership.

Better still, if we flub something or miss an issue that has your neighbors talking, let us know! Our comments section is the place for no-holds-barred, but civil, discussion of the vital issues facing the Wilmington area today — like land-use regs, impact fees, crime, mass transit, student assignments — you name it. If you think Wilmington is a great place to live and want to help keep it that way for decades to come, we need you to drop by and spout off.

That's it, pretty simple, huh? So pull up a chair and get ready to jump into the water at Squall Lines.
